―
What are the components of a transformative training? The answer to this question lives in the room as ToT participants collectively brainstorm the needs of their school leaders and troubleshoot potential obstacles to effective turnkey training. Through a series of role-playing activities, each member of the ToT group will teach a component of the restorative justice continuum of school-based practices in a workshop model that incorporates circle practice. This day is framed within a horizontal learning model, relying on the support and feedback of the participants to problem-solve and hone each trainer’s particular skill set.
What we will accomplish:
1.
Core circle practices, engaging discussions, video and activities will help participants deepen their understanding of the most essential elements of restorative justice and will guide the group in applying these ideas in their various professional settings
2.
Participants will learn how to use circles to manage their own inter-dependent school groups, build community, make decisions and maintain relationships
3.
Collectively brainstorm the needs of their school leaders and troubleshoot potential obstacles to effective turn-key training
